PIE
I think pie could possibly be my favorite dish to bake. One thing that I love about it is that you can literally make it for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert. Considering it's exactly one week from Thanksgiving I thought what a great first post on my new blog. I'll start with the classic, apple pie, there is really something about this pie that really warms the heart, the aroma that lifts up in to the air and finds your nose, really does sooth your soul. The cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves mixed together with the sugar and tossed throughout the juicy apples, and baked with a flacky buttery crust surrounding it. It is indeed one heavenly pie.
Sweet Potato Pie with Marshmallows, this pie is a real popular one in my house when I make it. It's not as fancy as the picture I have posted, that pie has graham cracker crust, and a marshmallow meringue on top. Which I think I shall make for Thanksgiving this time around. But this pie sure is delightful with the gooey melted marshmallows on top, and the less you add to this pie the better. Sweet potatoes are already sweet..so when i just add brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, butter, and sometimes some pumkin pie spice, it doesn't make it a heavy pie, it becomes one perfect side dish to go along with that stuffing.
